PACUCOA GRANTS USA LEVEL 1 ACCREDITATION STATUS TO 5 ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission of Accreditation (PACUCOA) granted the Level I Formal Accredited Status valid for February 2022-February 2025 to five (5) academic programs offered at the University of San Agustin. The programs that secured the Level 1 Accreditation are the Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the College of Technology, and the Bachelor of Library and Information Science from the College of Liberal Arts, Sciences and Education.

The award was a result of the evaluation conducted during the two-day remote virtual accreditation last January 11-12, 2022, which covered the ten areas: philosophy and objectives of the institution, organization and administration, faculty, instruction, laboratories, library, physical plant and facilities, student services and social orientation, community development and research which are considered vital in sustaining the quality educational services offered by the University of San Agustin.

Dr. Esther Vedaña, the chairman of the team of PACUCOA Accreditors, together with Dr. Lourdes Fumera, Dr. Edgar Chavez, Arch. Irene Florendo, Dr. Leronado Medina, Jr., Engr. Flordeliza Villaseñor, Dr. Glenn R. Andrin, and Mr. Aldwin Jose, assessed the ten areas.

Being accredited is the university’s process of ensuring the Augustinian community of its emphasis on quality assurance and commitment to continuous enhancement in its educational processes and instruction. (tsa)
