The Philippine Librarians Association, Inc.–Western Visayas Region Librarians Council (PLAI-WVRLC), in partnership with the University of San Agustin (USA), successfully conducted the 2026 National Summer Conference with the theme “Alib SMART: Advancing Libraries Through Safety, Modernization, Accreditation, Research, and Transformation” held at the USA Learning Commons on April 29–30, 2026.
The two-day conference gathered library professionals, educators, and information specialists to strengthen library systems through innovation, safety protocols, research development, and accreditation practices. Discussions centered on transforming libraries into more responsive, inclusive, and technology-driven learning hubs.
The initiative supports global efforts aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting inclusive, equitable, and quality learning opportunities through strengthened library services and access to information.
