The University of San Agustin (USA) proudly launched its LEAF A LEGACY campaign on December 4, 2023, at the Fray Luis De Leon Building. The momentous event brought together a distinguished group of alumni, alumni chapter officers, valued donors, and representatives from various esteemed organizations such as the USAAA, USACPA, USAFAPA, and the USA Employees Union, as well as members of the Management Council. The campaign aims to continue the University’s rich tradition of academic excellence and service through its scholarship advocacy, ensuring that future generations of scholars are given the opportunity to succeed.
The program commenced with a beautiful doxology given by Ms. Jann Pearl Cordero, AB Comm 2024 graduate, followed by the Philippine National Anthem and the USA Hymn, setting a reflective and celebratory tone for the occasion. Fr. Dominador Besares, OSA, the University’s Archivist, delivered the opening remarks, warmly welcoming the attendees and emphasizing the importance of community support in advancing the University’s scholarship advocacy. His words highlighted the deep-rooted values of the Augustinian community and the significance of each contribution, no matter how big or small, in shaping the future of the institution.
Following the welcome remarks, the rationale and mechanics of the LEAF A LEGACY campaign were presented by Mrs. Mary Anne Durias-Aurelio, Director of the Philanthropic, External and Alumni Relations, who outlined how the campaign allows donors to leave a lasting impact on the University through a unique and meaningful gift—a symbolic “leaf” placed on the Tree of Knowledge art installation. The leaves represent the enduring legacies of those who choose to support the University’s scholarship initiatives, providing future scholars with opportunities for education, growth, and success.
The attendees, including alumni, donors, and representatives from various organizations, proudly launched the campaign by being the first to hang their “leaves” on the Tree of Knowledge. Their support reinforces the University of San Agustin’s mission of academic excellence and its commitment to nurturing future leaders, guided by the Augustinian values of Unitas, Caritas, and Veritas. For those interested to join the LEAF A LEGACY family and wish to donate for the scholarship advocacy, please contact the PEAR Office through info@usa.edu.ph or the Philanthropic Officer at lhubag@usa.edu.ph.
The LEAF A LEGACY campaign marks a significant milestone in the University through the support of its alumni and partners. As the campaign continues, the University of San Agustin looks forward to fostering even greater collaboration with its alumni and partners, ensuring that the gift of Augustinian education continues to grow—leaf by leaf.
