What if your batch’s name could shine forever in the place where your faith was formed? When sunlight streams through the Adoration Chapel’s stained glass windows at the University of San Agustin, it now illuminates “HS Batch ’74″—not just a marker of generosity, but proof that the deepest friendships deserve to be honored. Thanks to the Dr. Rene and Daisy Lim Foundation’s vision, this batch’s fifty-year bond has been transformed from memory into permanence, their legacy literally glowing in the very chapel that remains their meeting place for reunions and casual gatherings.
This tribute honors more than nostalgia—it celebrates a living legacy of service. For many years now, the members of HS Class ’74 have been instrumental partners in the family Foundation’s community outreach programs. As selfless and tireless volunteers, they have extended their support to unprivileged communities throughout Iloilo City, bringing joy to countless children and families, especially during the Christmas season. The foundation remains forever grateful for their unwavering commitment to serving those in need. Their decades of faithful service exemplify what it means to live as Agustinos beyond the classroom.
Every student who kneels beneath that window now witnesses what’s possible when classmates live in Veritas, pursuing truth together; when Unitas outlasts graduation, keeping them bound as one; and when a batch continues the good work of fellowship and community outreach in Caritas, showing love through service even decades after. The foundation recognized what made Batch ’74 special: they embodied the Augustinian spirit so profoundly—cultivating a culture of service and giving—that they deserved to be remembered in the most meaningful way possible, in the sacred space where God calls us to be a GIFT.
The photo opportunity with the donor marker brought together HS Batch ’74 officers and representatives, including Alex Legayada, Luz Espinosa, Tina Carmelo, Lourdes Belarmino, Menchie Javellana, Teddy Tan, Magdalena del Castillo, Stephen Fanega, Mary Jeanne Servigon, Elba Combatir, Benette Lemana, and Malvie Melocoton—each one rekindling the spirit of camaraderie that continues to define their batch.
This is your invitation to do the same. HS Batch ’74’s challenge echoes through that stained glass: “We hope other batches will be encouraged to replicate this.” Imagine your own batchmates entering the chapel and seeing your batch’s name catching the morning sun—a permanent reminder that giving back through time, talent, and treasure is what transforms alumni into legends. Your friendships matter. Your shared history deserves more than annual reunions and group chats. If USA shaped who you became, if your batchmates are still your chosen family, then this is your moment to create a legacy that will inspire generations of Agustinos. Will your batch be the next to answer the call?
