Iloilo City — The University of San Agustin (USA) has once again affirmed its standing as a premier nursing education institution in Western Visayas, celebrating 482 Augustinian nursing graduates who successfully passed the August and September 2026 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (PNLE).
The University gained an 84.71 percent passing rate. This achievement comes as the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) reported that 28,652 out of 37,359 examinees nationwide passed the examination, yielding a national passing rate of 76.69 percent.
A Legacy of Excellence Rooted in Augustinian Values
The success of these 482 graduates is the latest chapter in a nursing program that has been shaping healthcare professionals since 19—. The College of Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics (CNND) has long anchored its curriculum on the Augustinian core values of Unitas (unity), Veritas (truth), and Caritas (charity) — principles that guide graduates toward becoming “transformative community builders, restless and creative thinkers, and social communicators of Truth”.
The 482 new registered nurses embody this mission as they enter a profession that demands both clinical competence and compassionate care.
The journey to those 482 licenses began long before the examination days. Throughout Academic Year 2025–2026, the CNND conducted comprehensive orientations designed to prepare students for the demands of nursing education and eventual licensure. These sessions reinforced academic standards, professional conduct, and the integration of Augustinian values into clinical practice.
The support system extended beyond the classroom. Student organizations, including the Nursing Student Council, played active roles in fostering community and belonging among CNND students — a factor that faculty and administrators credit for sustaining morale throughout rigorous academic years.
