The University of San Agustin (USA) and Himamaylan National High School (HNHS) formalized their institutional collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on May 5, 2026, during the 25th Founding Anniversary of the Gregor Mendel Research Laboratories and the 5th Young Scientists’ Forum.
The partnership underscores a shared commitment to strengthen academic cooperation, research collaboration, scientific engagement, and educational initiatives aimed at advancing learner and educator development. It also seeks to promote joint programs in research, science education, academic exchange, and training activities that foster innovation and excellence in teaching and learning.
The signing was led by Rev. Fr. Arnel S. Dizon, OSA, University President; Dr. Jonel P. Saludes, Vice President for Research and Innovation; Mr. John Paul P. Mondejar, Director of the International Relations Office; and Mrs. Marjorie S. Carisma, In Charge of the Gregor Mendel Research Laboratories for the University of San Agustin, alongside Dr. Mona Liza Canonera, Principal; Ms. Karyl Morano, STE Coordinator; and Mr. Joseph Pagalaran, Education Program Supervisor for Science, representing HNHS.
This milestone highlights the importance of strengthening linkages between higher education institutions and secondary schools in cultivating a strong culture of research and scientific inquiry among young learners.
