John Paul P. Mondejar, Director of the International Relations Office of the University of San Agustin (USA), Iloilo, marked a historic milestone as the first Filipino participant in Russia’s Dialogue for the Future 2025, an international policy forum organized by the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund, held in Moscow, Russia on 05-09 December 2025.
The Dialogue for the Future 2025 convened emerging leaders, diplomats, scholars, and policy practitioners from across the globe to engage in discussions on global governance, multilateral cooperation, regional security, sustainable development, and the evolving international order.
As part of the program, Director Mondejar attended a session with Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Sergey Ryabkov, during which he participated in the question-and-answer segment and posed a question from a Philippine and ASEAN perspective.
Throughout the dialogue, Director Mondejar engaged with international counterparts and experts, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, mutual understanding, and cooperation in an increasingly complex global environment.
“The dialogue underscored the importance of ensuring that voices from developing and middle powers are present in shaping global conversations,” Director Mondejar said. “As the first Filipino participant, and as the Philippines marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation, alongside its preparations for the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2026, engagement in platforms such as this reflects our continued commitment to dialogue and constructive international cooperation.”
Director Mondejar’s participation reflects the University of San Agustin’s expanding role in international academic diplomacy and global engagement. As Director of the International Relations Office, he continues to advance the university’s commitment to internationalization, strategic partnerships, and meaningful global collaboration.
The Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund is a Russian institution dedicated to strengthening international dialogue and public diplomacy.
