The University of San Agustin (USA), through its College of Nursing, Nutrition, and Dietetics (CNND), showcased its commitment to excellence in nursing education as CNND Dean Dr. Louie P. Hijalda and Nursing Academic Supervisor Ms. Bernadette Gamosa participated in the NurseLead Summit 2026, held on July 9–10, 2026, at the Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.
Centered on the theme, “Enhancing Faculty Competencies in Teaching Public Health Nursing in the BSN Program,” the summit brought together nursing educators, faculty members, and academic leaders from higher education institutions across the country to strengthen competencies in public health nursing education through the exchange of innovative teaching strategies, research findings, and best practices.
Representing the University, Dr. Hijalda delivered a podium presentation titled “Integrating the COPA Framework in NCM 122: The Iloilo Pilot Study,” highlighting innovative approaches to competency-based nursing instruction. Meanwhile, Ms. Gamosa presented a research poster entitled “Integrating E-Learning Platforms to Enhance Learner Engagement in Public Health Nursing,” showcasing technology-driven strategies that promote active learning and student engagement in nursing education.
The summit featured presentations from nursing education experts and distinguished resource speakers, providing participants with valuable insights into emerging trends, effective teaching methodologies, and innovations that continue to shape public health nursing education in the Philippines.
