ILOILO CITY — Representatives of the University of San Agustin participated in the Basic Research Ethics Training (BRET) held on June 17–18, 2026, at Sam’s 21 Hotel, Diversion Road, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
The Basic Research Ethics Training (BRET) equipped participants with the knowledge and competencies necessary to conduct ethically sound research, with a strong emphasis on protecting the safety, rights, and welfare of study participants. The training also prepared participants to guide and mentor their peers and colleagues in upholding ethical research practices.
The BRET was organized by the Committee on Information Dissemination, Training and Advocacy (CIDTA), chaired by Prof. Lerma L. Paris, in partnership with the Research Ethics Monitoring Board (REMB VI).
The University of San Agustin continues to support initiatives that strengthen research competence and promote the highest standards of ethics and integrity in the conduct of research.
