UNIVERSITY OF SAN AGUSTIN RECOGNIZED AS AWARDEE IN UNISERVITATE AWARDS 2026

The University of San Agustin (USA) has been honored as the Institutional Program Awardee at the Uniservitate Awards 2026 – Asia & Oceania, for its flagship initiative IPaTUBIG: Empowering IP Community Through WaSH and Renewable Energy.

The selection process was highly competitive: the Uniservitate Asia & Oceania Regional Hub received 34 project submissions and 17 program entries from universities across the region—including institutions from the Philippines, India, Taiwan, Australia, and Macau SAR. Among these, IPaTUBIG stood out for its relevance, sustainability, and genuine focus on community needs.

Implemented in partnership with the Guimbal Ati Tribe Organization (GATO) in Camangahan, Guimbal, the program is a collaborative effort led by the College of Liberal Arts, Sciences and Education (CLASE), with strong support from the Social Advocacy and Community Engagement Office (SACEO) and the College of Technology (COT). Together, these units work hand in hand to empower the community by providing access to safe water, improved sanitation, hygiene education, and renewable energy solutions.

This recognition means more than just an award. For the Ati community, it validates their development journey and opens doors to greater support for better health, safety, and self-reliance. For our students, it offers a meaningful learning ground where they apply classroom knowledge to address real-life challenges—turning theory into tangible, caring action.

Rooted in the Augustinian values of Caritas (Charity), Veritas (Truth), and Unitas (Unity), IPaTUBIG embodies our mission: to walk in solidarity with marginalized groups, pursue what is true and good, and build lasting harmony between people and their environment.

The official awarding ceremony will take place this August during the Service-Learning Student Summit 2026 at the University of Saint Joseph in Macao. (MCDaguay)
