The University of San Agustin (USA), Iloilo City, Philippines, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Thevara, India, further strengthening its international partnerships and commitment to academic collaboration.
The MOU signing took place on August 19, 2026, in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, during the 32nd General Assembly and Conference of the Association of Southeast and East Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities (ASEACCU), held from August 19–21, 2026, at Universitas Sanata Dharma.
Representing the University of San Agustin at the conference are Rev. John Louis S. Ricamora, OSA, University Chaplain and Academic Staff of the College of Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Rev. Fr. Jebie U. Jugarap, OSA, Director of the Center for Religious Studies.
The partnership with Sacred Heart College provides opportunities for the two Catholic higher education institutions to pursue academic collaboration, faculty and student engagement, research initiatives, cultural exchange, and other mutually beneficial programs, in accordance with their respective institutional missions.
The MOU reflects USA’s continuing efforts to expand its network of international partners and create meaningful opportunities for its students, faculty, and academic community to engage with institutions across Asia.
Anchored in the Augustinian values of Unitas, Caritas et Veritas, the partnership underscores the shared commitment of both institutions to education, service, intercultural understanding, and the formation of individuals who contribute positively to their communities and the wider world.
The signing also highlights the University of San Agustin’s active participation in the ASEACCU community, which brings together Catholic colleges and universities across Southeast and East Asia to promote cooperation, dialogue, and a shared commitment to Catholic higher education.
Through this new partnership, the University of San Agustin and Sacred Heart College look forward to building stronger institutional ties and advancing opportunities for internationalization, academic exchange, and mission-driven collaboration.
