USA Academic Staff Win Four UNIFFIED Awards

Three academic staff members from the College of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Education (CLASE) and one from the College of Technology (COT) were conferred the Outstanding Leadership in Education Award by the United Federation of Fil-Am Educators, Inc. (UNIFFIED), United States Chapter, in recognition of their contributions to teaching, research, and academic leadership.

Dr. Edwin C. Samis (Social Science), Dr. Ma. Cecilia D. Alimen (Languages and Humanities), Engr. Glenda Guazon (Computer Engineering), and Dr. Rhoda G. Campillan, Academic Supervisor of the Communication program, received their awards on August 16, 2026, at the Limketkai Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City.

The four educators were honored alongside distinguished awardees from academic institutions across the country during the UNIFFIED International Educators Awards, which recognizes educators, leaders, professionals, youth ambassadors, artists, and community advocates whose achievements exemplify excellence, leadership, innovation, and service to education and society, both locally and internationally.

This recognition reflects the awardees’ dedication to academic excellence, mentorship, and community engagement — values that resonate deeply with the University of San Agustin’s mission of forming persons of competence, conscience, and compassion. As USA academic staff continue to earn recognition on national and international platforms, the university reaffirms its commitment to nurturing educators who lead with purpose and inspire transformation both inside and outside the classroom.
