The University of San Agustin – Center for Advanced New Materials, Engineering, and Emerging Technologies (CANMEET), represented by Dr. Achilles E. Espaldon, PhD, a CANMEET researcher, Gregor Mendel Research Laboratory researcher, and Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering, was awarded Best Oral Presenter at the 3rd International Conference on Water and Environment for Sustainability (ICWES).
The conference was held from April 7–9, 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia, alongside ASIAWATER 2026, the region’s leading water and wastewater platform for developing Asia. With the theme “Water, Energy, Climate, and Sustainability: Charting the Future of Environmental Research,” ICWES 2026 gathered experts and researchers from various disciplines to present solutions to pressing global environmental challenges. The event emphasized multidisciplinary collaboration among scientists, engineers, industry leaders, managers, and policymakers in advancing sustainability across water, energy, and environmental systems.
This recognition highlights the University of San Agustin’s strong commitment to advancing research excellence, innovation, and global engagement in addressing environmental and sustainability challenges through science-driven and impact-oriented initiatives.
The conference was organized by the University of Nottingham Malaysia.
