The University of San Agustin (USA), through the Campus Ministry Office and the Cofradía del Santo Niño de Cebu – USA Iloilo Chapter, joyfully celebrated Fiesta Señor 2026, honoring the Holy Child Jesus.
The celebration featured Novena Masses, held at the Main Chapel and sponsored by the different colleges and departments from January 9 to 17, 2026. As part of the devotional activities, the image of the Santo Niño de Cebu was brought to various colleges and departments in the Duaw ni Niño.
The Feast of the Santo Niño de Cebu on January 18, 2026, commenced with a Solemn Foot Procession that passed through General Luna Street, Mabini Street, Delgado Street, and Jalandoni Street. This was followed by the enthronement of the image of the Santo Niño de Cebu, presided over by Fr. Glenn A. Macorol, OSA, Spiritual Adviser of the Cofradía del Santo Niño de Cebu and University Chaplain. The celebration continued with the Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by Fr. Jessie Tabobo, OSA, the Institutional Legal Counsel.
In his homily, Fr. Tabobo emphasized the value of humility (mapainubuson), noting that a child does not exalt himself but recognizes his smallness before God. He reminded the faithful that when we humble ourselves before the Lord and acknowledge our constant need for Him, we open our hearts to His grace.
The celebration also included the induction of the new officers of the Cofradía del Santo Niño de Cebu – USA Iloilo Chapter, conducted by their Spiritual Adviser. The newly inducted officers will serve a two-year term, with Mrs. Daza installed as the new President. The Spiritual Adviser likewise welcomed four newly invested members of the Cofradía.
May the devotion to Señor Santo Niño de Cebu continue to deepen the faith of the Augustinian academic community as they entrust their prayers and petitions to the Holy Child Jesus.
