The College of Technology at the University of San Agustin (USA) achieved a remarkable feat as Computer Engineering students won the prestigious Best Paper Award at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Technologies for Industrial Automation (ROBOTHIA 2025). The award was presented at the event held at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for their groundbreaking research titled “Development of an IoT-based System with AI-Driven Feeder and Rice Hull Management for Chickens.“
The paper, authored by students Mark Andrei Traya, Eury Azucena, and John Gabriel Budok, and guided by mentors Engr. Glenda Guanzon, Engr. Adha Theza Naputol, and Engr. Jopearlson Ituriaga takes a revolutionary approach to agricultural automation, combining IoT and AI to optimize poultry management. The paper’s impact has been significant, earning it a coveted spot for publication in IEEE Xplore, making it available to the global community of robotics and industrial automation researchers.
In addition to the Best Paper Award, the university’s strong performance at the conference was further highlighted by the acceptance of four other research papers for presentation and publication in IEEE Xplore. These papers, spanning a variety of cutting-edge fields in IoT and robotics, demonstrate the diversity and creativity of the USA’s Computer Engineering department. The accepted papers include:
