The University of San Agustin Conservatory of Music successfully held “Femme: Her Song” on March 25 at the University Choir Room, highlighting the artistry and legacy of women composers in celebration of National Women’s Month.
The recital featured a curated selection of art songs written by women, bringing to the stage a powerful blend of musical expression and advocacy for gender representation in the arts. Through this initiative, the Conservatory underscored the vital contributions of women in shaping the musical landscape across generations.
A lineup of talented performers graced the event, including Jomel Garcia, Ally Tupas II, Demmie Maza, Amabelle Castro, Yves Adrian Gabasa, Wynn Villanueva, Janine Columbretis, Adrianne Kylle Cortez, and Daevie Lorraine Iligan. They were accompanied by Prof. Argiel Resurreccion and Dr. Gerardo Vicente Muyuela on piano, delivering compelling performances that resonated with the audience.
“Femme: Her Song” not only showcased vocal excellence but also served as a platform to elevate women’s voices in music—both literally and historically. The concert reflects the University’s continued commitment to cultural enrichment, inclusivity, and artistic excellence.
