USA gives pandemic assistance to its personnel

The University of San Agustin extends financial assistance to its personnel during the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the province and the city of Iloilo. The months under the ECQ left many of the Ilonggos in bouts of panic and uncertainty because of the disruptions from work and the fear of being infected by the deadly virus.

The university has abided with the protocols and guidelines set by the local government and health agencies. It has implemented policies ensuring the employee welfare and business continuity to minimize the impact of the ECQ period. Its operations adopted a skeletal workforce or split operations arrangement to ensure that the needs of the students and the stakeholders are still catered to.

The pandemic assistance is the university’s way of assuring its personnel with some help amidst the financial difficulties during this time of pandemic. This is also in lieu of the pending salary increases proposed by the administrators to the union.

Recipients of the pandemic assistance are the academic non-teaching personnel, term employees, non-academic personnel, maintenance personnel and the academic personnel/faculty members.

It is in hopes that the financial assistance will provide relief to those who are most affected in the Augustinian community. (TSA)
