USA Grade 11 Learners Secure Second Place in DSTF–TUKLAS Research Presentation

The University of San Agustin (USA) Basic Education Department secured Second Place in the TUKLAS research presentation during the 2026 Division Science and Technology Fair (DSTF), held on October 17–18, 2026, at Jaro National High School, under the theme “Leveraging Scientific Innovation for a Sustainable Progressive Philippines.”

The event brought together elementary and secondary learners, science teachers, coaches, and faculty members from participating schools to promote scientific literacy, creativity, innovation, and critical-thinking skills. The TUKLAS research presentation provided learners with an opportunity to present their scientific investigations, innovative ideas, and research findings while developing their research skills, problem-solving abilities, and scientific communication.

Representing USA were Grade 11 learners Therese Angeline Golez, Gabrielle Gelvero, and Kobi Clarito. They were guided by their coaches and accompanying faculty members Ms. Lizette J. Amodia and Dr. Claudette C. Paracale, along with their research advisers Ms. Joriza Tabing, Ms. Shaira Obligar, Mr. Kris Jan Lebuna, and Mr. Cyril John Tubola.

The team’s Second Place finish demonstrated the learners’ competence, teamwork, and dedication to scientific learning. Their participation also highlighted the value of scientific inquiry and evidence-based solutions in addressing real-world challenges and contributing to sustainable development.
