SOCOTEC Certification Philippines , Inc. acknowledges University of San Agustin’s successful implementation of the certification requirements as specified in the International Standard (s), based on the results of the external audit held September 19-20, 2024. It was recommended that the university is recommended for ISO 9001:2015 certification. The audit team was composed of Mr. Jose Emmanuel Thomas Diel as lead auditor, and Joseph Denoga and Gerard Cayetano as support auditors.
The compliance of the organization’s management system processes, documentation, certification standard(s), and other normative references were verified by the team. The certification scope was the management of the education system of the Basic Education (pre-elementary, elementary, junior high school, senior high school), tertiary, and graduate studies. The objective of the recertification is to confirm the continued conformity and effectiveness of the management system as a whole, and its continued relevance and applicability for the scope of certification.
During the opening meeting, the university president, Rev. Fr. Arnel S. Dizon, OSA, stated that re-accreditation of ISO 9001:2015 is critical for the university since it not only improves credibility and operational efficiency, but also encourages a culture of continuous improvement and student satisfaction.
One of the auditors’ emphasized positive feedback in the closing meeting was on “the maturity of the USA’s management system being highly commendable”. They explained that the audit findings are critical components of a strong quality management system, which ultimately promotes improvement and improves organizational performance.
The outcomes of the re-accreditation audit will serve as a catalyst for continuing improvement in the institution’s operations. (tsa)
