USA supports QMS, undergoes face-to-face ISO 1st surveillance audit

On September 22-23, 2022, the University of San Agustin (USA) underwent a two-day onsite ISO 9001:2015 1st Surveillance Audit by its partner auditing firm, SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. The audit team was composed of Mr. Jose Emmanuel Thomas Diel as lead auditor and Ms.Fatima Mercurio as support auditor. They verified the compliance of the organization’s management system processes, documentation, certification standard(s), and other normative references. The certification scope was the management of the education system of the Basic Education (pre-elementary, elementary, junior high school, senior high school), tertiary, and graduate studies. The objective of the surveillance was to maintain confidence that the certified management system continues to fulfill requirements between recertification audits.

During the opening meeting, university president Fr. Frederick Comendador, OSA expressed that this surveillance visit is a good reminder of the pursuit of the values of being Augustinians through the delivery of satisfactory services to others and charity by doing something good for others. 

In the closing meeting, the auditors highlighted positive feedback in the areas of top management commitment and proactive approach in addressing issues and concerns, extended provision of services and resources, and control of documented information. The results of the conducted surveillance audit will catalyze continuously improving the institution’s operations. (CO/tsa)
